A Wide Selection of Quality Forage for Livestock

A Wide Selection of Quality Forage for Livestock

The hay we offer is blister beetle-free and carries a quality guarantee against dust and mold unless predetermined. We do not raise fescue-based hay, so endophytes are not an issue.

Our team also utilizes the best equipment and methods, including mowing and storage, to ensure our hay remains the highest quality available to the customer. By sharing our harvesting process with you, we hope you understand the care and attention to detail we put into our products.

The Moorefield Farms Process

Our hayfields are fertilized annually using either commercial fertilizers or a combination of commercial fertilizers and poultry manure. This is important because it raises the nutritional value of the hay, which makes it more palatable and nutritious to the animal than non-fertilized hay.

The pH levels (lime) are being monitored every three years on all of our hayfields. We are more than happy to provide you with samples and nutritional test results. And before you make a purchase, we can box up a flake of any hay you are interested in and mail it to you. It only costs $25.00 per sample, but it can be credited towards your hay purchase.

We store our hay in either open-sided steel buildings or wood sided bank barns, which greatly increase air flow and reduce sun bleaching. None of our bales of hay are stored outside or under tarps to ensure consistency in our products’ quality.

Please note that organic hay, although not grown and baled by us, can be brokered through our farms. Just let us know and we’ll help you.
